Kim Poh specialises in IP and IT laws. He has vast experience in assisting clients in a diverse range of contentious and non-contentious IP matters, such as trademarks, industrial designs, patents, copyrights and franchising. Over the course of his career, he has advised and worked with multiple domestic and foreign clients on the management and protection of their intellectual property. He also provides guidance on domain name disputes and privacy protection.
Kim Poh graduated from the University of London with LL.B (Second Class Upper Hons). He was admitted to the Malaysian Bar in November 2001 and thereafter commenced his career as an Advocate and Solicitor.
He is a registered Patent, Trade Mark and Industrial Designs Agent.
Kim Poh was a regular co-author of articles published by the International Law Office (ILO) on legal updates in the area of intellectual property in Malaysia.
He authored an article entitled “Malaysian court rules on scope of protection for well-known trade marks” which was published in the Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice (Oxford University Press) (2017, Vol. 12, No.9).
He was also a co-author of “Intellectual Property Protection in Malaysia” in Maximising IP Value in Asia, a supplement to the Intellectual Asset Management magazine (iam, 2004), “Significant Cases of IP protection” in IP Value 2006 published by Globe White Page Ltd, publishers of Intellectual Asset Management magazine (iam, 2006), and“Recent Developments in IP Law” in IP Value 2007 published by Globe White Page Ltd, publishers of Intellectual Asset Management magazine (iam, 2007)
