Leonard has substantial trial, appellate and arbitration experience and has litigated at all levels of the Malaysian and Singaporean court hierarchy. He represents leading Malaysian companies and multinational companies in domestic and international arbitrations. He has been involved in various landmark cases often acting as counsel in those cases.

Graduated from the University of Leeds, UK with an LL.B (Hons) (Second Upper) in 1994. He was admitted as an Utter Barrister to the Bar of England & Wales in 1995 and is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London. He was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1996 and the Supreme Court of Singapore in 2001.

Leonard is an active speaker and has made numerous presentations on Labour & Employment Law and Industrial Relations in Malaysia and the region. He also speaks and chairs regularly on Dispute Resolution, ICC Arbitration and Construction.

He writes and contributes regularly to legal journals in Asia Pacific.

Voted as one of the top 7 dispute stars from Malaysia in the inaugural Asialaw Asia-Pacific Dispute Resolution Awards in Hong Kong.

Nominated by in-house counsel worldwide and his peers to appear in the Guide to the World’s Leading Labour & Employment Lawyers, published by Euromoney under its Expert Guides series.
